Leave 'em Hooked Showcase Results

The 2010 Leave 'em Hooked Showcase on May 18th at Comedy Sportz was well attended and enjoyed by all. Before the showcase, about 25 members attended a social mixer at The Independent in Calhoun Square and enjoyed food, drinks, and inspiring conversation. The first fifteen pages of the top five scripts were read onstage by professional actors. The audience voted and submitted written feedback for the participating writers. The results were: First Place - Patricia Fox Runner-up - Eric Olson Patricia received a copy of Montage Script Writing software, and Eric received a copy of Contour Script/Story Structure software courtesy of Mariner Software. Thanks to everyone who submitted and participated. Keep writing and get your scripts ready for next year's contest!

Winners of Script to Screen Challenge 2010

Winner: "I've Got No Right to Sing the Blues" by Julie Meyer Runner up: "White Rabbit" by Eric Olson The three RED (March) finalists were Julie Meyer, David Pollard, and David Erickson; The three WHITE (April) finalists were Julie Meyer, Betsy Stark and Eric Olson; The three BLUE (May) finalists were Julie Meyer, Al Morales and Donna Mohr; Congratulations to the winners and thanks to everyone who entered the contest this year. Keep writing and try again next year. The winning screenwriter will now be able to work with the director on filming the 10-page script this summer. The grand prize is a $2,000 production grant and assistance from the students in the Summer Lab at Minneapolis Community Technical College Cinema Program. Screenwriters' Workshop would like to thank all five judges for 2010 -- David Grant, Alan Miller, Miriam Queensen, Patrick Coyle and Victoria Wozniak-Morris.
