SWW 2013 Feature Contest Winner Public Reading on October 21st

Time: Reading at 7:00 pm (social hour 6:00 – 7:00 pm)
Place: Minneapolis Community and Tech College, Room T4040
As part of the Twin Cities Film Fest, SWW-Thomson Reuters 2013 Screenplay Feature Contest Winner, DEGENERATE by Karen Frank, will be read by professional actors and directed by Bill Cooper. Admission is FREE.
Degenerate is about Otis Baker, who after spending twenty years in a mental hospital, asks his daughter and ex-fiance to take him to Germany to reconnect with his early years as a “degenerate” artist under the Nazi regime.
A social hour will precede the event from 6:00 to 7:00 pm.
Following the reading, SWW 2013 Script-to-Screen winner, PATIENCE by Tom McGovern, will be screened.

SWW members are invited to attend Ross Brown’s master lecture on “Writing for the Web” which will be presented to MCTC”s screenwriting students on Friday, October 25th at 2 pm at MCTC Room 4040.
Ross Brown is a past staff writer for THE COSBY SHOW and FACTS OF LIFE, author of BYTE-SIZED TELEVISION: CREATE YOUR OWN TV SERIES FOR THE INTERNET, and currently an Assistant Professor of Film and Media at Chapman University in Orange, CA,

and SWW Annual Meeting has been rescheduled to before the event

As part of the Twin Cities Film Fest, a screenwriting panel will be presented featuring Ross Brown and several local writers and producers on the topic “Writing for the Web”. It will be held at the ICON Theaters in St. Louis Park on Saturday, October 26th at 9 am.
The featured guest panelist is Ross Brown is a past staff writer for THE COSBY SHOW and FACTS OF LIFE, author of BYTE-SIZED TELEVISION: CREATE YOUR OWN TV SERIES FOR THE INTERNET, and currently an Assistant Professor of Film and Media at Chapman University in Orange, CA.
SWW’s annual meeting will be held at 8:30 am before the event to update members on the coming year’s programming, the status of the organization and to answer questions.
